AFCON Industries Ltd. is one of Israel's largest industrial groups.

The Group designs, manufactures, installs, integrates and sells a wide range of electromechanical systems and products (electrical, air-conditioning, refrigeration); control (industrial control, building management, security systems, fire detection and extinguishing systems); software; communications; natural gas systems; and wind energy solutions.

The Group has about 1100 employees and operates branches in Petach Tikva, Haifa, Jerusalem and Beer Sheba, as well as in the Central Europe and the Caribbean.

In 2009 the company's annual turnover amounted to 910 M NIS.

AFCON customers include leading companies in a range of sectors: energy, seaports and airports, railways and transportation, petrol, gas and water, communications, safety and security, and urban and rural development.

AFCON has many customers in the industrial and security sectors as well as in the field of commercial and public installations.

A Company with Tradition

AFCON was established in 1945 and is today owned and controlled by Shlomo Shmeltzer, who serves as Chairman.

The Group has integrated capabilities enabling it to operate as prime contractor or sub-contractor in large-scale projects in the infrastructure and industrial sectors, and in tenders for related works such as electrical, control, mechanical contracting and civil engineering.

Main Products and Services

The Group plants manufacture low, medium and high voltage switchgear and panels and control panels.

As part of its activities as a contractor, the Group installs and integrates electro-mechanical systems and provides complete solutions for electrical systems, air-conditioning, industrial refrigeration, control and automation systems, fire detection and extinguishing, safety systems, security and building management, traffic and telemetry, natural gas systems, and develops and manufactures electronic modules. Recently, the group added the communication division to serve the Telephony and Communication market.

The company provides Human Machine Interface (HMI) software packages for SCADA systems and the expertise for setting up and operating wind energy generation projects.

The Group imports and distributes a range of components, computerized, electrical and control equipment, electronic equipment and natural gas systems - manufactured by leading companies worldwide.

Markets & Growth Activities

The company also operates overseas where it is contracts projects in the electro-mechanical, control and security fields in Romania, the Czech Republic and the Caribbean.

AFCON Group also operates in the wind energy and the natural gas sectors.

Since commencing operations in this area in 2005, the company has won many projects exceeding €10 million in total.

These areas of endeavor contribute to the economic growth of the company.

Looking to the Future

As part of its growth and diversification strategy, the Group is committing financial resources to investments in BOT and PFI projects, as well as in the strategic acquisition of compatible local and overseas companies in order to operate and compete overseas.
